Beyond GLOBAL CONNECT Hook Mobile is launching it’s IP DIRECT service which allows our high volume customers to avoid today’s problematic multiple hop, low quality routing options with the ability to directly exchange IP traffic globally at the highest quality, fastest speed and lowest price. Chief Executive Officer/Co-Founder
Terry Hsiao is a highly respected serial entrepreneur and expert on SMS, social mobile trends and the app economy. He has an impressive track record for developing companies in the mobile industry. Terry founded Hook Mobile after co-founding InphoMatch, the pioneer in intercarrier messaging, acquired by Sybase for $425 million.
Prior to Hook Mobile, Terry was chief operating officer of Way Systems. Prior to InphoMatch, Terry managed operations for Nextel Partners’ wireless venture (acquired by Sprint), from inception, to IPO within 18 months. Hsiao serves on Virginia’s Board of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority (IEIA). He also serves on the Board of Governors at MIT Sloan School of Management, D.C. Chapter, and on the Business Advisory Boards of Rutgers University College of Engineering.
Terry holds an S.M. degree from MIT Sloan School of Management with a concentration on growth strategy and entrepreneurship, and an Honors B.S.E.E. degree from Rutgers University.
Chief Technology Officer/Co-Founder
Tsai brings more than 16 years of experience in software engineering and in designing complex, highly scalable transaction processing platforms. Prior to Hook Mobile, he co-founded InphoMatch (Sybase), serving as chief architect for six years. He was the architect for the messaging platform that handles more than 1.5 billion SMS & MMS message per month. Earlier in his career, Tsai was a senior technology consultant at Compaq (formerly Digital Equipment Corporation).
Tsai holds an M.S. degree in Information Systems and B.S. degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Soren Schafft is an experienced digital media executive having spent the last twenty years working at the intersection of media, technology and commerce in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. He played a significant role in the development of mCommerce in the United States, having launched the first commercial premium sms services and being directly involved with many of the most successful psms campaigns. Soren has participated in the digital media ecosystem as a carrier, an aggregator, a direct to consumer marketer, a Board Member for several industry groups, and as a media executive.
Soren has enabled solutions for companies such as NewsCorp, 21st Century Fox, Fox Sports, Blue Sky Studios, Fox Searchlight, Disney, ABC, NBC Universal, Telemundo, Sony BMG, Viacom Networks, Hasbro, Endemol, The Weather Channel, Hearst, The New York Daily News, NY Jets, Univision, Marvel, Smithsonian, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Telenor, etc.
Vice President, Finance
Bill Peters brings over 16 years of experience in finance ranging from building startups to large public company finance. As a co-founder of InphoMatch, he served as VP of Finance from initial startup through acquisition by Sybase in 2006. At Sybase365, he raised $40M of debt and equity, completed two acquisitions, and built the systems that handled Sybase365’s $1B cash flows annually.
Before InphoMatch, Peters held several executive level finance and operational positions within General Electric (GE) Energy, including finance manager for GE’s “Green” gas turbine and Six Sigma Master Black Belt programs. He served over ten years as a combat pilot in the United States Air Force.
Bill holds a B.S. in Avionics Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.B.A. from Colorado State University, and a M.S. from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
