Alexandria, VA - February 12, 2007 — Hook Mobile, the creator of peer-to-peer digital asset marketplaces for entertainment companies, today announced that it has added seasoned gaming and entertainment executive Tom Dusenberry to its Board of Directors.
Launched in October, 2006 with the introduction of CBS "Survivor" mobile trading cards, Hook Mobile has defined a new category of mobile content with the launch of the first cross-carrier multimedia messaging (MMS) application suite in the U.S. The company's patent-pending platform, the Mobile Asset eXchange (M.A.X.), combines digital publishing, digital tracking of individual assets and "collect-to-win" redemption to help bring branded content to mobile social networks.
"Having someone with Tom's experience and expertise in social gaming, digital content and international distribution and marketing is a great asset for Hook Mobile" said Brian Kathman, CEO of Hook Mobile. "His addition to the board is well-timed to help the company as it pioneers the market for peer-to-peer mobile content and social gaming."
Over the past 30 years, Mr. Dusenberry has overseen the successful publishing and distribution of games for virtually every game platform in the market. He was the founder and CEO of Hasbro Interactive and Games.com and was a top executive at Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley Games for 22 years. Dusenberry is closely associated with great games like Monopoly and Scrabble. Dusenberry led Hasbro Interactive's acquisition of major game companies, including Atari and Wizards of the Coast. He is the founder of Dusenberry Entertainment, a consulting firm dedicated to helping mobile entertainment and gaming companies build shareholder value through funding, licensing, distribution and operational strategy.
"I am delighted to join the Board of Hook Mobile. The company is very strategically positioned at the intersection of mobile marketing, social gaming and multimedia, and their platform has great appeal to entertainment companies seeking innovation in mobile content," said Dusenberry. "The trading card game business is growing quickly around the world, and mobile is a very obvious evolution of the experience. Hook Mobile provides a tremendous multimedia platform for the next-generation of social gaming." |
Hook Mobile is pioneering the category of "mobile collectible content" with a patent-pending technology platform that introduces scarcity, random distribution, online collection and peer-to-peer trading to MMS wireless content. Founded by a team of mobile business, technology and marketing veterans, the company focuses on "generation content" and emerging trends in multimedia mobile marketing for entertainment, sports, consumer goods and gaming companies.
